Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing
And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That’s shining in your eye
Just to dig it all an’ not to wonder
That’s just fine
— Van Morrison

Last weekend I had the pleasure of crossing off (from what I actually found out from my friend Kate) a bucket-list item from the Oregon 7 Wonders. I had no idea, and I've lived here for 15 years!

Painted Hills and the John Day Fossil Bed area is as dreamy as you think it is.

I was lucky enough to be invited by my dear friends Gary and Jes who I've known almost as long as I've lived here.  They got engaged and asked me to shoot some photos of them in their element... Literally. They own a Honda Element.

The images above were all shot at the Painted Hills Overlook, very cool and definitely not as velvety a texture as one would think. Which was cool because from here we drove down to an area that has been Instagrammed to death. But I can see why, It was a really cool spot. It got you right up close to the mounds. Because that's what they are, big mounds of dried dirt.
